Our Altar Servers have received special recognition at Parish Level of the Enrolment of the Guild of St Stephen.
Earlier this summer, fifteen Altar Servers from St Joseph & St Switun attended the rally at Aylesford. The Archdiocese then advised us to carry out our own Enrolment and awarding of the certificates at our Parish level.
These were celebrated at ceremonies at four Masses at St Joseph’s church.
In addition, Fr Saju requested a refresher training course for Altar Servers upon his arrival at our Parish, This was carried out by Fr. Saju and Fr. Patrick assisted by Gabriel and Stephanie Stoner (pictured below).
The aim was to standardise and streamline aspects of this Ministry to ensure uniformity and, most importantly, reverence during Mass by our young Altar Servers whilst serving at the Sanctuary.
